Which license fits?
Professional is purchased by you, for you; an organization can’t buy it or reimburse you. Business is purchased by an organization for employees or contractors, and seats can be reassigned within that organization.
How many licenses do we need?
One for each person who will use VersionSQL. If five developers will commit through VersionSQL, buy five seats. Multiple people sharing one installation still need separate licenses. You don’t need a license for someone who only uses the database and doesn’t use VersionSQL.
Can we buy by quote, PO, invoice, or reseller?
Yes. Request a quote, or see my reseller page for who to contact. To get an invoice, uncheck ‘Securely save payment details for future use’ at checkout, then choose the invoice payment method. Wire transfer or ACH is available on larger orders.
Who else uses VersionSQL?

Will VersionSQL keep working if you disappear?
Totally get it, "bus factor" risk mitigation and all that. Short answer: Yes.
Perpetual keys validate offline, so VersionSQL keeps working if versionsql.com and I disappear. Future fixes, support, and compatibility with new SSMS releases still depend on continued development.
What does a perpetual license include?
Your perpetual license lets you keep using the most recent version available before your support and updates subscription expires. The purchase includes one year of support and updates. It starts a renewable support subscription that you can cancel from the receipt email.
Monthly and yearly product subscriptions grant use only while active.
Do you offer educational or nonprofit discounts?
Yes. Request a quote and mention your organization in the comments field.
What if it isn’t a fit?
